FAQ - CP1 FINs Write Protect and Security Violation Writing to Memory

Q: Why do I get a Security Violation error when trying to write data from CX-Programmer to CP1 series PLC, through CP1W-CIF41?


Communications between CX-Programmer and CP1 PLC is working, but CX-P prompts error when attempting to write to PLC memory area via CP1W-CIF41. When connected via USB, writing data works well.



A: There is a CP1H setting called FINs write protection.  When checked, it only allows certain nodes to write data to the PLC using FINs.  Uncheck the parameter to allow communications
