Modified on Fri, 7 Feb at 10:47 AM

Purpose

This document will show how to properly set the light curtain with the floating blanking feature using the dip switches when a client does not have an intelligent tap.

Problem Explanation/Objective

By using the Dip switches on the light curtain we will be able to set up floating blanking on the light curtain just by following the instructions that consist of turning on and off the light curtain while having an object on the light curtain.

Supported devices

F3SG Series Light Curtains

Requirements

F3SG Series
Any object to block the desired beams

Procedure

1. Identify the DIP switches on the light curtains and make sure that all of them are off and switch 6 should be the only one in the ON position.
2. Turn the light curtain ON.
3. Place the object in the view of the light curtain
4. Between SW1 and SW1 DIP switches there is a pushbutton that needs to be held for 3 seconds
5. CFG AND BLANK LED will be flashing at the same time.
6. When you see them flashing press the same pushbutton once and the LDE should be stable.
7. Hold the reset button of the system for 3 seconds or cycle power to save the program.
