CONFIDENTIAL – INTERNAL USE ONLY

Purpose

Extend Output Format Functionality with Zebra’s 123Scan Software by Creating a Configuration Barcode

Problem Explanation/Objective

This guide will describe how to create a custom configuration barcode to extend the HS-360x handheld scanners Output Formatting functionality with a configuration barcode created from Zebra’s 123Scan software.  The use of Zebra’s 123Scan configuration barcodes are only necessary if an application requires setting configurations that are not available in the WeblinkPC software.

This process will utilize Zebra’s 123Scan software.  This guide will also use an example configuration setting of modifying the output data string to help describe the necessary steps to create the custom configuration barcode.  The result will be a custom configuration barcode that configures the handheld scanner to output the first eight digits of the scanned barcode’s data.

Please do not use the Zebra 123Scan software if it is not necessary.  The Zebra 123Scan software is not supported by Omron.
