VNC for the NB

How to set up a VNC connection on NB series HMI



Purpose

This document will describe the process to set VNC function for NB-series.


Problem Explanation/Objective

Since the VNC function has been added to NB-Designer V1.63 for Windows 10, a remote connection using the VNC Viewer is also supported by NB-series.


Supported devices

Requirements

NB HMI
Network switch
NB designer software 
VNC viewer software


Procedure

1.Connect the computer and the HMI to the network switch. The IP addresses must be in the same range:

2. Using NB-Designer. Double-click the PT placed on the Configurations and Setup window to display PT property. Select the “PT” tab and set the IP address and subnet mask for network setting as follows:

IP Address: 192.168.250.2

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0


3. Select “Enable VNC” . Set numeric passwords in range from 0 to 4294967295. (Within the range, no restrictions on the number of digits). A password must be set for monitor mode and operation mode, respectively. When the same password is set for both modes, the password is set for operation mode. If you want to log-in from multiple clients, select ”Enable Multi Access”.



4. Open VNC Viewer and enter the IP address of the HMI. Enter the password depending on the mode you want to connect in (monitor or operation).
