TN - NJ101 Built-in EIP Port Settings issue

Modified on Tue, 4 Feb at 3:10 PM

Summary/Issue Description

This note addresses Tag Name Resolution Error (34270000 hex).

Root Cause

• The size of the network variable is different from the tag settings.

• The I/O direction set for a tag data link and the I/O direction of the Controller variable do not match.

• There are no network variables for the Controller tag settings.

• A variable in the Controller that is set for a tag data link has the Network Publish attribute set to Input but also has the "Constant" attribute.

Solution

Check the following:

  • Correct the sizes in the tag settings to match the network variables.
  • Correct the tag settings or the settings of the Controller variables so that the I/O direction for the tag data links match the I/O direction of the Controller variables.
  • Correct the tag settings so that existing network variables are set for the tags.
  • Remove the Constant attribute from the Controller variable that has the Network Publish attribute set to Input.

If after checking these corrections the error persists, and within Sysmac Studio in the 'Ethernet/IP connection settings' section from the 'Tools' menu, no 'Connections' or 'Tag Sets' have been created, it is very likely that this was previously configured and not deleted from the PLC's memory.

Please back up your entire project and then try using 'Clear all Memory' from the controller menu.

Note: To do the Clear Memory you have to be in Program mode.

You can initialize the user program, Controller Configurations and Setup, variables, and absolute encoder home offset in the CPU Unit to the defaults from the Sysmac Studio. This is called the Clear All Memory operation.
