TN - MS-Connect 210. Wiring Switch to Unlatch Output

Modified on Mon, 10 Feb at 3:10 PM

Summary/Issue Description

The MS-Connect 210 does not allow the external membrane switches to be programmed for other uses.

In order to unlatch an output, you will need to wire a separate momentary switch to “Input 1” on the inside terminal(s) of the MS-Connect 210.

Supported Products

All readers that allow Output X = Latch mode 1 (unlatch on Input # 1 pin) where X is the number of the Output in the I/O section of the reader settings. Typically called Output 1, 2, or 3.

Solution

Here is a quick sketch showing the wiring of a switch to the terminals in the MS-Connect 210

The connections are as follows:

  • PWR+ to INPUT1+
  • PWR- to one side of the switch
  • INPUT1- to the other side of the switch

You may be able to remove one of the feed-throughs on the bottom of the MS-Connect 210 and install the switch in the opening to avoid having to run cable.
