TN - Wiring length for G9SP inputs.

Modified on Tue, 30 Sep at 4:32 PM

Summary/Issue Description

This document will explain the different cable lengths that are appropriate for the G9SP inputs to work without any failure or misreading.

Root Cause

Incorrect wiring on the G9SP can cause problems even when all programming is correct, and this is just because users are reaching the limits of the proper wiring.

Solution

  • When connecting a non-contact door switch, keep the total wiring length within 100m per test output point.
  • When connecting one test output point to multiple mechanical contact devices, the total wiring length must be within 600m.
    • When connecting only one mechanical contact device to one test output point, the wiring length can be up to 600m.
  • When connecting safety mats, the total wiring length for each test output point must be within 100m.
  • When connecting a single beam/light curtain, keep the total wiring length for one test output point within 100m.
