Purpose

This guide provides instructions for updating the firmware of the FH Software to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features.

Problem Explanation/Objective

Updating the firmware of the FH Software involves installing a new firmware version onto the FH controller. This process ensures that the software operates with the latest improvements and bug fixes. The update is performed via a MicroSD card or USB storage device that contains the firmware file.

Supported devices

  • FH Controller
  • FHV Controller

Requirements

  • A MicroSD card or USB storage device with sufficient capacity.
  • The latest firmware file for the FH Software.
  • Administrative access to the FH Software and controller.
  • A computer with the FH Software installed for initial setup and verification.

Procedure

1. Prepare the Firmware File:

  • Copy the contents of the firmware file to the root directory of a MicroSD card or a USB storage device.

2. Insert Storage Device:

  • Insert the MicroSD card or USB storage device into the FH controller.

3. Access System Information:

  • In the Main Window of the FH Software, select System Information from the Function menu. The System Information dialog box will be displayed..

5. Select Upgrade Tool:

  • Choose the version-up tool to launch. To use the upgrade located in the E drive, select OK. Alternatively, you can manually navigate to the desired directory by selecting Select File.

6. Perform the Firmware Update

  • On the start window, check the Software version of the Controller and the Software version after the update. Click Execute if everything is correct.

*Note: The Sensor Controller may restart several times during the update process. Do not remove the USB memory stick or SD card during this time. If removed, restart the Sensor Controller and reinsert the storage device. If a message appears during the update, do not click any buttons and leave it to ensure successful completion.

7. Install the Camera Driver :

  • Depending on the Sensor Controller's conditions, drivers may need to be installed. If the Windows Security dialog appears, click Install this driver software anyway at the bottom.

*Note: Clicking Don’t install this driver software will bypass driver installation. If mistakenly selected, the dialog will reappear.

8. Install the Touch Panel Monitor Driver:

  • If the update includes support for touch panel monitors, a dialog may appear. Click Install to proceed with driver installation.

*Note: Clicking Don’t Install will bypass driver installation. If mistakenly selected, turn off the Sensor Controller to reinstall the driver.

9. Complete the Update:

  • After the final message dialog is displayed, remove the USB memory stick or SD card, and then click OK.

*Note: Clicking OK will cause the Sensor Controller to restart automatically. Ensure that the Sensor Controller starts and operates normally.

Warning: Do not remove the USB memory stick or SD card before the final message dialog appears. Failing to do so may result in an incomplete update, preventing the measurement application software from launching correctly. Always click OK to ensure all files and settings are properly saved and avoid potential malfunctions.
