FAQ - FH Software - Types of Back-ups

Modified on Tue, 4 Feb at 4:31 PM

Q: What are the differences between backups done on the FH software, and when should each be used?

A: The FH software supports four types of setting data backups, which can be saved on the Controller RAMDisk or an External Storage Device:

1. Scene Data (*.ini) – Represents shared setting data, such as system menu information.

2. Scene Group Data (*.scn) – Refers to individual setting data, including unit settings, scene order, and image pane layout or size.

3. System Data (*.sgp) – Includes data for the 128 scenes.

4. [Scene Group + System] Data (*.bkd) – Combines both system data and Scene Group 0 data.

Additionally, there is the Configuration Copy Backup. This function backs up the setting data of the Sensor Controller. The ability to save/load a copy of the Sensor Controller settings as project data simplifies the process of copying desired settings to other Sensor Controllers.

• Scene Data, Scene Group Data, System Data, and [Scene Group + System] Data are file-type backups. These files can be stored in a folder, and other files may be added to the same folder, as the FH software reads them as individual files.

• Configuration Copy is a folder-type backup. If other files are placed in this folder, the configuration copy will not be read into the FH software correctly.
