TG - FH Software - Logging in Network Folder

Purpose

This document provides instructions for configuring Network Folder Access for the FHV7/FH Software and logging images to a network folder.


Explanation 

The FHV7/FH Software enables the logging of images to a network folder. This capability ensures that images are not lost and can be accessed from multiple computers within the network. Proper configuration of network folder access is essential for seamless data logging and sharing.


Supported devices

• FH_FHV Launcher (Software)

Requirements 

• Ensure that both the FHV7/FH device and the destination PC are on the same subnet.
A shared network folder on the PC where images will be logged.
Administrative access to configure network sharing and permissions on the PC.
• FHV7/FH Software installed and running on the device.


Procedure


1. Ensure Network Configuration:

• Both the FHV7/FH device and the destination PC must be on the same subnet. For example, use subnet 10.5.6.xx


2. Create and Configure a Shared Folder:

• Create a new folder on your PC.
• Right-click on the folder and select Properties.


• Go to the Sharing tab and click on Advanced Sharing.
Tick the Share this folder box. 


 Click on Permissions and select Full Control. 


• Copy the Network Path to this folder into your clipboard.


3Start the FHV7/FH Software

• Open the FHV7/FH Software and navigate to the System Settings menu. 

 


4. Configure Network Drive Settings:

• Go to the Network Drive settings section.
• Select a drive letter and click Edit. 
• Enter the Network Path from Step 2. 
• Enter the PC Windows username and password

* Note: to find your Window user name, open the search bar and type “your info”. The user name is the full path on the second line. 


5. Apply Network Drive Settings:

• Click Apply then Data Save 
• Restart the FHV7/FH Software to apply the settings.


6. Verify Network Folder Access: 

• Start the FHV7/FH and return to the System Settings menu.


7. Check Logging Settings

• Go to the Logging setting section. 
• The network folder should now appear as a logging destination.
 


8. Verify in Image File Measurement Window

• The network folder should also appear in the Image File Measurement window.
