TG - Internal Use - How to decode a license for Sysmac/CxOne

Purpose

This guide explains how to properly decode a license from a registration number



Problem Explanation/Objective

When requesting the license number from a customer, they sometimes provide a registration number instead, which is not a valid license. These registration numbers can be decoded to recover the actual license number. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for decoding it.  



Supported devices 

  • Sysmac Studio
  • CX-One


Requirements 

  • License Validate.exe
    • To get this executable, please contact your supervisor. 


Procedure

    1. Execute the license validation program: licensevalidate.exe

    2. The following window will open:


    3. Enter the Registration Number. This must be a 16-character alphanumeric string. Make sure it does not have       any spaces between the characters.

    4. Click on decode.

    5. The decoded information will be displayed below. The most relevant output is the Installation License Number.
