Modified on Thu, 2 Oct at 4:42 PM

Purpose

This guide explains the steps to create a recipe on the NA5 HMI using Sysmac Studio.

Problem Explanation/Objective

Customers need to create global variables first to be able to create a recipe in the NA5 HMI (Internal variables will not appear on the Recipe Editor)

Supported devices

  • NA5 HMI Series
  • Sysmac Studio

Requirements

  • Sysmac Studio software
  • NA5 HMI

Procedure

1 - Go to the HMI Global Variables under Data:

2 - Create the variables that will be "ingredients" on the Recipe template:

3 - If the variable is not registered in the controller, you can right-click and select "Register to Controller":

4 - Click "Add or Update Variable". Then, go to the PLC Global Variable table to confirm that the variables were successfully created:

5 - Go to Recipes and right-click to Add a new Recipe Template:

6 - Using the Add button, add all the "ingredients" for your recipe and assign each variable previously created. You can set an initial value and set maximum and minimum values:

7 - Once the ingredients were created, open the recipe template using this icon:

8 - Using the Add button, add all the "Recipes"  to be used:

9 - Double-click on each ingredient to change the initial values of each recipe:

10 - Use the simulator to test (Use the Recipe Viewer HMI object to display all the data for the recipes):
