Q: What are the differences between the Project password and Transfer password on the NB HMI Series?
A: When you set a password for an NB project, it is to prevent other users from viewing your project.
Users can still download and upload the project, but they will not be able to make modifications unless they know the project password.
Be cautious not to forget the project password. Once it is set, it cannot be bypassed, and you will need to rewrite the entire project if you lose it.
To set the Project password, go to the File Menu and select Project Password:
By default, both the upload and decompilation passwords are set. As a result, users must enter the specified password to upload a project from the HMI; Otherwise, project uploads will be blocked. The default password is 888888.
This password prevents users from uploading or decompiling the project. Therefore, if they wish to create a backup or modify the project, they will not be able to transfer it from the HMI to the NB Designer.
To set the Upload/Decompile password, right click the HMI and select Property -> PT Extended Property:
