Modified on Thu, 2 Oct at 3:48 PM

Purpose

This guide explains the steps to change the CPU Name on Sysmac Studio, so the PLC Name matches the CPU Name in the project.

Problem Explanation

If the PLC Name does not match the CPU Name in the Sysmac Studio project, a pop-up window will appear with a warning "Name / Serial ID is not matched". To avoid this window comming up each time you go online with the controller, you must change the CPU Name to match the project information with the information downloaded to the controller.

Supported devices

  • NX1 PLC Series
  • NJ PLC Series

Requirements

  • Sysmac Studio
  • Programming Cable (USB or Ethernet, depending the PLC series)
  • NX or NJ PLC

Procedure

1 - Go online with the controller.

2 - Open the Controller Menu and select "Update CPU Unit Name":

3 - After the CPU Name was updated, go offline, and then go online with the controller again to confirm the name was already changed.
